The first half of the Book of Daniel with the stories took me back to Sunday School so I kept thinking of it as kid-stuff. Apart from stubborn piety, there isn't much to Daniel as a character. But the apocalypse stuff of the second half reminded me of my time as a teenager when I was caught up into the 7th Day Adventists church. They taught about this prophesy stuff inserting the Pope as the antichrist so there was a lot about Daniel in those Bible study classes. Reading it after all these years, I didn't really enjoy this work.
