We read this book as part of our homeschool curriculum Before Five in a Row. It is a cute book. It has helped my 3 year old learn about the importance of cleanliness (through the pictures, not the story). It provides opportunities for seek and finds, and my son loved counting different items on the pages.

A rhyming story that identifies the segments of the day, food, clothing, daily activities, and body parts.

These books are adorable. Pictures are cute, the rhymes are fun and the text flows so well that this could serve as an easy reader as well. Unfthortunately my 5 1/2 year old decided this was a bit too cute for his taste. "This is for babies", he said, so I guess we won't be reading the rest of the series about Jesse Bear ...

This was a super cute book! I loved Jesse Bear. He reminded me of Little Bear but different. Jesse Bear got up in the morning and got dressed. He went outside to run around and play, especially in the sand box. He ate some lunch, got it all over himself and went back outside till his dad got home. Then he took his bath, got his pj's on, played some with his dad and then went to sleep. I loved the rhyming scheme of this book like “my shirt of read, pulled over my head.” The two-page spread of when his dad comes home was the cutest picture in the book. My favorite part of the book was when his name became Jesse Bare for the part when he was in the bathtub. I thought that was clever changing it to the homonym bare that means without apparel. I also liked the part with his “pj’s on his feet and face on the seat.” I loved the illustrations because they were big and colorful. I believe these were done in watercolors. I loved the illustrations for this book but the combination with text was great. I enjoyed every precious moment of Jesse Bear.

While this book had cute pictures with bright colors the story line bored me. I also found it confusing because it talked about things such as wearing a chair or sand. It was not what I was expecting.

A rhyming account of what a little bear wears throughout his busy day. The pen & ink and watercolor illustrations are bright and cozy. The rhymes are lilting and sweet.
