I am absolutely enjoying this series so much. I have missed Cassidy's and Jacob's story. In hope I'll get book #3 soon!
Paris was definitely a good choice for a haunting story. It kinda makes me want to go there again, and see the catacombs, instead of only wandering around for the art galleries.

I think I liked this book waaay better than the first one. The characters were better (though Cassidy is still annoying af —a millennial mirror), the plot was a tad more interesting and more tense.
Of course I have the same criticism from the other book, but overall, I enjoyed it a little more. I think it’s disappointing to see Victoria Schwab completely miss the opportunity of a great storyline knowing her other novels.
Loved the ending btw, left me alarmed. Gonna read the third book now.

Eu gostei mais dessa leitura, por ter um quê sombrio maior, ao mesmo tempo que me deixou mais instigada de entender tudo que estava acontecendo. Gostei de ter um desfecho mais bem trabalhado que o primeiro livro, na minha opinião, foi mais intenso, condizente com a narrativa como um todo, dessa vez não fiquei com a sensação de que foi fácil demais para uma criança de 12 anos (sigo inconformada com isso rsrsrsrs mas agora, parando pra pensar com mais calma, HP e Percy Jackson também tinham essa idade nas primeiras aventuras, ou seja, será que é um sintoma de ficar mais velha?! Achando coisa de jovem demais rsrsrsrs).
O gancho para o terceiro e último livro da trilogia me pegou demais, estou curiosíssima para entender o que está rolando e como dona VE Schwab vai finalizar esse universo.

Great continuation of Cassidy Blake's adventures with her super cool history/supernatural nerd parents. This time, we are in France and Cassidy gets to figure out how to deal with a poltergeist. I truly love Jacob's friendship and also his fears and struggles.
I genuinely feel much more interested in Jacob rather than Cassidy and often times I almost feel like there is some kind of, not necessarily a copy/paste, but something similar with almost all of the characters in this series except for Jacob with the HP characters. Like Cassidy reminds me of Harry Potter and his pretty dull personality (imo), Lara is basically Hermione, the new character we meet reminds me of Jenny or whatever. Jacob could be Ron, but he's got a little more umpff.
Anyways, I am super intrigued by the ending though! Possibly a secret society? o.o
