Enjoyed this a lot, Schwab really knows how to write a compelling story regardless of if it's targeted at children, teens or adults. I love Cass and Jacobs's friendship, and I hope we continue to get more insight into Jacob's past, perhaps a visit to his family.. Wish we got a little bit more Grimm! I'm really looking forward to seeing how the story concludes in book three.

I'm glad I decided to continue this series, despite the mediocrity of the first book, mostly because of my lack of interest in middle grade. This was such an enjoyable reading experience! I love anything set in Paris, and I've always been intrigued by the Catacombs. Jacob is my favorite character, and I adore his sarcasm, humor, and overall banter with Cassidy and Lara. I was immediately engrossed in the story, and I wasn't bored at any point of the book. I'm excited to read the third installment coming out in 2021!
