what a sucker punch of an ending for Annabelle, this was def my fav of the three, but I do wish Pepper had just a teeny bit more closure

Nice, fluffy read. I did not enjoy the writing style for the first chapter or two of the book, but once I was into it the structure made more sense.

I received this book through Netgalley as an advanced reader in exchange for an honest review.

I had been waiting for the release of this book after having read The Secret Life of Violet Grant and Tiny Little Things. The three books each tell a story about one of the three Schuyler sisters - Vivian, Tiny and finally, Pepper.

The sister's stories take place in the 60's and each book has another interwoven story to tell, taking place earlier in the century. This book did not disappoint. Pepper's story seemed to be less significant overall in the book, but the language and attitude of her character was fun and sassy - and added some lightness to an otherwise darker subject. The backstory was heavier - leading up to the takeover of Germany of the Nazi Party in the late 1930's, including a glimpse into Kristallnacht. It is the love story of Annabelle, but also one of eventual forgiveness and redemption. The lead females in the book had fortitude and spunk. The two stories were tied together somewhat quickly but neatly as the book came to a close. I was a little surprised even, the book book does a good job foreshadowing what is to come, but the "who" is left to question. I really enjoyed it and am only disappointed that their are no more Schuyler sister's to tell a story.
