It's a comic adaptation of late-70s TV sci-fi…with all the quality writing and artwork you'd expect from such a thing. ;) It does include some extra information in the middle, primarily background on the series and its universe. The most interesting section is an interview with effects wizard John Dykstra, at that time fresh off of winning awards for his work on Star Wars and just getting the newly formed Industrial Light and Magic going, discussing his work on Battlestar and the differences between effects for film and for television.
