I️ read this volume just for Sejic’s art, but of course the story captivated me. I think I’ll be following the story for a few more issues — see what develops. I️ highly recommend!

By far the best volume in Aquaman Rebirth so far. The art is gorgeous, we get to see Tempest, AND THERE'S DOLPHIN. Missed you, pretty lady ❤️

I was super excited when I saw that Stjepan Sejic drew this entire volume. Oh, I loved his work for Witchblade and Angelus. So, Arthur mysteriously survives getting stabbed by Murk and he looks like his movie self ala Jason Mamoa with long hair and a beard.

He quietly survives in the Ninth Tride which is the lowest realm of Atlantis. But Rath's actions causes him to come into the light again as he defends citizens like Dolphin who has mutations.

Most of the people in the Ninth are considered other by the high borns. It feels sad that even as a society, the kingdom is divided and prejudiced.

Mera is depressed but finds hope when Vulko, of all the people I would think to lead the rebellion, contacts her to tell her that Arthur is alive. Sejic takes a different look at the Crown of Thorns (golden barrier of energy)

compared to the previous issues's artists (literal purple thorns)

But there are some issues when she gets an amulet the Silent School (magic welders) uses to get through the barrier.

I liked how the society of Atlantis is shown more in this volume. The previous three focus on the surface world. But now, their society and different functions is shown. I loved Sejic's frame it up worthy drawings that ties into wonderfully with magic and fantasy.

I also knew that not everyone would be supportive of King Rath and even his loyal followers begin to question his choices like Urcell. In fact, he starts to show his tyrannical nature.

I think this run has been great and I am excited to read more!

Aquaman vol 4 is a noticeable improvement over the previous two. For one thing the art is no longer just does the job. It’s the star of the comic. The best thing about it.

Also Dan Abnett’s story must have been waiting to get here because it’s good, entertains throughout. Because the plot has reached an interesting point. Arthur’s portion with Dolphin is really interesting and Vulko’s quest is pretty great. Mera’s is the least interesting because she does the least but what is good is everyone is competing for the same goal of overthrowing the ponce from the last volume who took over for Arthur.

And it’s engaging cause I want to see Arthur win. It has more room to grow and I hope they can follow this volume up with another good one because Aquaman is deserving of it.

I enjoyed it but I’m still not sure if I’d recommend this Aquaman run. I want it to get better.

3 stars.

This was a pretty solid Aquaman story, but the art is the real star.

90/100.
