The narrator is so cynical and mean-spirited that I couldn't enjoy it.

Really loved it at 14, not so much at 16. The point is don’t reread books to impress boys

I couldn't put this book down -- I loved the worlds it describes and the compelling drives of the main character. Thought-provoking and has prompted several discussions over the couple of weeks after reading it.

Thr first chapter (zero) was 5 stars. Loved it! Then the profanity started to climb to an R rating, so I looked elsewhere for a good book.

One of the best books I’ve read in a while! Chock-full of details and a fleshed out story inside a nerdy virtual world that I have never really been a part of. Interesting perspective from the protagonist.

Hatte extrem viel Spaß an dem Buch und so ziemlich jede popkulturelle Referenz verstanden. Beweist mal wieder was für ein Nerd ich doch bin.

In 2044, most of humanity tries to escape the horrors of reality (global climate change, decrease in food production, high unemployment rates, etc.) through OASIS: a massive online multi-player utopic universe. Just before OASIS creator James Halliday dies, he releases an elaborate video game to find his easter egg: ownership of OASIS. Hundreds of thousands of people begin the search, including the giant, evil corporation IOI. Wade Watts is a teenager who is obsessed with Halliday, OASIS, 80s culture, and finding Halliday's egg. When he is the first person to find the first key; he is instantly famous and all eyes are on him as he continues his quest to find all three keys.

A fun action/adventure/sci-fi/dystopia. The 80s references got kind of tiresome after a while.
