This would be a decent introduction to the Tulsa Race Massacre for someone who knew nothing about it. I wish the stories intertwined sooner. Although I was interested in both Rowan's story and Will's story, they were really two separate stories up until the end. Also, Rowan's story deserved more of a resolution.

Suspenseful with a twist, I was gripped until the end. Well written story based on true events about a part of American history that I didn’t know happened in Oklahoma. I wish it wasn’t true but it’s important to acknowledge that these white mobs happened and learn from their hate/ignorance that there is a better way to treat those we don’t understand and to see all people as worthy of love and respect.

Standing up for what is right is always challenging and takes courage but so many people have found that courage over the years.

It was a good book. One story, 2 different main characters, 2 experiences... they intersected seamlessly in the end. The best part is the truth hidden within the fiction.

I liked the story line but I found that following two different characters in two different time periods made it a little confusing.
