This was really good! I’m not quite sure how the Indigenous’s marrow still allows them to see their dreams. This is supposed to be more scifi based but I couldn’t get past that more fantasy aspects.
Aside from that, I liked the plotting, characters and the audiobook was really good!

Set in a future where climate change has wreaked havoc and people are driven mad by their inability to dream, the indigenous people of North America are being hunted and harvested for their bone marrow, which carries the ability to dream. In this dystopian world, Frenchie and his companions struggle to survive. I feel like some plot points and character development were missing and I liked the idea of the book more than the execution. Still a solid read but with mentions of rape, I'd put this in the hands of older students.

3.5 ? it was really good but at the same time there were some parts i didnt love and it wasnt my favorite

I loved all the characters, their little family, and I 100% did cry multiple times, it just isn't my favorite book I've ever read.

i'm glad I read it, though, it's a really good adventure story about chosen family, indigenous culture/oppression,

and how easy humanity and history can repeat itself. there were just some characters I feel were underdeveloped (Rose deserved better to just be a passive love interest and Wab deserved way better too)

Story grabbed me right away and was tough to put down.
I enjoyed it a lot.
There is a second in the series, but this book concludes well and is fine as a stand alone. (Although I’m going to be starting the next one really soon!)

This is a post apocalyptic, dystopian style of book that I haven’t read in a long while. So while it took some getting used to, it was incredibly moving and had so many beautiful moments.

“Sometimes you risk everything for a life worth living, even if you’re not the one that’ll be alive to live it”

There were so many moments where I had to put this book down and really sit with what I had read, and that’s such a great aspect of a novel.
