I have voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. I apologize to Ms. Kristal Hollis for only posting my review after its release date.

Rafe lost his wife and an upcoming child when they got killed in the woods. He met Grace in Brice and Cassie's party and knew that he's attracted to her but resist it.

Grace is Cassie's best friend. She wants Rafe as her friend as he is Brice bestfriend but Rafe refused. She was hurt but they still build the connection to each other.

I read the first book and I really enjoyed it. I'm somewhat excited to read Rafe's story since he's introduced to the first book.

The story is slow. Both Rafe and Grace are playing hard to get. Rafe resists the attraction although his wolf been screaming "Mine" to Grace. On the other hand, Grace can't trust Rafe because of her experience plus she doesn't want to commit but she's longing to belong, to have her own home. I understand that she needs to process all the revelations but she loved Rafe. What I can't understand is why is she still plays hard to get after all and tool her a long time before she accept Rafe's love.

I like how Grace found about Rafe and the Wahyas as it gives spice to the story. Clay's revenge part also added the spice to the story. I'm also expecting more on Sheriff Locke's scene but nothing much happened and came to think that Sheriff Locke's moment will be on the third book.

I still like all the characters in the second book of Wahyas. But I like Brice and Cassie's story more than this. I know Rafe has different personality and story to tell, but I don't know maybe I'm expecting a different side of Rafe here. Still, I enjoyed this one. New characters. Refreshing story. I'm excited for the next book!

Widower meets woman who is a force of nature When Grace Olsen swerves to miss a wolf the last thing she expects is to be rescued by a naked man. She also doesn't expect that her attraction to the gruff widower Rafe Wyatt is going to build. Rafe hasn't really thought about wanting another woman since poachers killed his wife and child and now he's starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. However he has to convince her as well as himself that this relationship could work. Then there's the fact that she knows nothing about werewolves or Wahyas (as they are in this world) even if she's about to be the godmother to one.
Fun read, you could see the reluctance to get hurt again in both characters.

Using this for the Shifters square.
