I really enjoyed reading this book. I found myself smirking at many humorous parts. I loved both the main female and male characters, Vivi and Rhys. I also liked Vivi's cousin, Gwyn. At some points, it did have a Hallmark movie feel but not in a bad way.

The only real critiques I have are
Spoiler that they didn't really explain or go into more detail about what happened with Rhys and his betrothal or give the interaction that Rhys and Vivi had when they broke up. I feel like that part was a bit glossed over and in some ways, it feels like a silly reason for them to break up because, in a normal situation, he would have explained that his father set this up and he wanted nothing to do with it and was going to break it off, etc. I can understand her being upset but in my opinion, if he had nothing to do with it and/or wasn't going to go through with it, I don't see the real issue especially if they were *in love* with each other. Another critique, I don't think they fully went into why Vivi didn't practice her magic until later in life and why her mom tried to live a more "normal" life without magic. Perhaps that gets explained more in the next book but I feel like it left me hanging.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I will definitely read the next book!

witching hour anyone?
was expecting this book to be but more on the YA side (truly judging a book by its cover) but the minute Vivi made a reference to Rhys and his chain dangling over her the thought was shattered and I was lowkey hoping for a little toe-curling orgasm. the love story was cute, sometimes frustrating…so glad he came back and they’re together though!
such a cute and fun story. perfect book to set the stage for my october reads! i laughed out loud at some parts, got a little sad at others, but i felt really proud of Vivi’s character. she’s a literally bad ass considering at the beginning of the book she rarely ever used her magic but the end she was a full blown spirit summoning bitch!!!
