That this man was later President of the United States... that he lived long enough to become POTUS, given his varied adventures is amazing.
The book itself is tedious at times, especially in the first half. But overall pretty entertaining.

A very interesting book. The first half of the book was engaging and I could not put it down. The last few chapters went into great detail on big game hunting which just wasn’t as interesting to me.
