every t. kingfisher book i’ve read so far has been fantastic, and yet i am still shocked again every time by just how good her books are.

this was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end, not one line was wasted, and throughout it all i couldn’t stop myself from being constantly shocked and surprised by just how much creativity and imagination you must have to create such a fascinating world.

just such an incredible read, i don’t think i’ve ever read anything quite like this.

Could I have read this in one or two sittings? Absolutely, but I didn’t because I wanted to savor this story. It was just perfect and I understand why this won the Hugo award. I literally cannot find a single bad thing to say about it. Sheer perfection.

This was my first T. Kingfisher book and I will definitely be reading more of her works. This one was a slightly dark fairy tale. As short of a novel as this is, T. Kingfisher was still able to make me fall in love with the four main characters. So much so that if she ever wanted to give us a follow up on what the dust-wife, godmother, Fenris, and Marra get into after this, I would devour it in an instant. And let’s not forgot bone-dog and the chickens. So adorable 🥰

This one is going to stay with me. And if you haven’t read T. Kingfisher before, start with this one. T. Kingfisher may have become a new auto-buy author for me.

Deeelightful! I had a lot of fun with this quick-reading quest adventure. I think fans of Terry Pratchett's witches will like it, since two of the characters are channeling some serious Granny Weatherwax and Nanny Ogg energy :). As a middle-aged reader, I greatly appreciated having all of the characters be 30 or older for once. Grey-hairs represent!
