⛵Persuasion⛵ by #JaneAusten follows the story of a woman past her prime during the Victorian Era and how her role shifts.

To be honest, I am on a classical challenge! I want to expand my classical novel count, and this is another one I decided to try! This was a beautifully written book where the main character Anne is doing her best in finding her place again in society when seemingly no one wants her because of her age. As someone who is past "their prime" as it is described, Anne just blends into the background as a supporting character.

However, throughout the novel second chances were given to her and even her ex-fiancée to make amends with each other. However, despite the broken hearts and hurt feelings, Anne is forced to go outside her comfort zone to even give herself a second chance. I think Jane Austen did a wonderful job writing this book, the writing was easy to read and to follow and the inner thoughts of Anne were realistic. I overall enjoyed the suspense and drama.

I recommend this novel to anyone who wants another historical romance!

AMO A ANNE, A WENTWORTH Y A “ANNE Y WENTWORTH” UN MUNDOOOO
“Seguramente, si nuestro afecto es mutuo, nuestros corazones se entenderán.” ¿por qué eso me suena tan cute?
me encanta como Jane Austen nos da los mejores hombres escritos jamás y luego nos da los peores (en el mismo libro) para mantener el balance y los pies en la tierra ;-;
cuando Wentworth escribió en su carta “Sólo por usted pienso y proyecto.” (entre otras cosas súper qjkfnxn

I'd sincerely like to thank the terrible Netflix adaptation for having persuaded me into reading this wonderful book. Having loved P&P, I was pleasantly surprised at how Anne was written. She's quiet and subdued but is also a keen observer and an excellent judge of character. To learn that such a person was persuaded against her will was a sorry situation to read!

I wouldn't say that the book has a detailed plot to begin with. We are merely introduced to the characters and nothing is established beyond that, as our leads are already said to have history. Much of the plot thus revolves around Anne and her friends/family going about daily lives with a dash of drama. It's the continuous but silent push-and-pull between Anne and Wentworth, making you question will-they-wont-they and the constant melancholic musings that go round in Anne's head about her attachment to Wentworth, that make this book a great read!

While Anne had all my attention, I was equally curious about Wentworth. A man who still captured such a woman's heart despite those long years of separation, must be special? I confess I didn't like him as much, until his spontaneous declaration. Such bursts of emotions from a man make him all the more handsome in my eyes. So much so that I can confidently say the pair take a place only second to Lizzie & Darcy!

La historia de amor gives you warm feels too :3
