A funny light reading with a bit of spice in it and a lot of humor. And also some very dark themes but there are not so much the main focus of the book. I liked the rivalry between the two MCs but I would prefer a bit more content and more interactions between the characters. All in all for a light reading it's a nice romance that leaves you wanting more.

Make sure to read the trigger warnings! There are some dark themes and circumstances. appreciated this at the start of the novella.

I do wish the story on the war could be longer to develop more as there was quite a few characters so I find it myself a bit struggling on who is who. It is a novella so that would be with any one. I believe it will develop further in future novellas so it’s a good introduction to the world.

Love the prank war and what extremes they go to in a way. Hopefully there is more pranks.

Some parts I was uncomfortable but the overall story was not bad especially since a fantasy novella would be hard to write in general.

The tension between the two MC from childhood to adulthood was between years but build over time. Part of me wants a “5 years later” epilogue even though I usually hate those, I just gotta know.

Overall, a good quick read between long books and would like to see how it develops between the war in this world.
