3/5🌶️, MF, fantasy, fae and other mythical creatures, magical battles, second in a finished series, KU

Second book in this fantasy series - they all have to be read in order to get the full story. This one continues the plotting for war and vengeance. I found this book to be way better than the first. All the annoying bits about the FMC in the first book, were less troublesome in this book. She really grew on me and I was a huge fan of her petulance and manner by the end of this second book, though I still mentally age her up because I hate that she’s just 20 years old. The book was a bit slow to start, but the found family aspects, and secondary characters really take off in this book. I like the new power the MMC revealed at the end of the first book. I like the banter and teasing and inside jokes between the MCs. I wish they were together more in this book, but it made their interactions that much more powerful because they were fought for. I’m starting to get the hype of this series now, this book has turned up the action and adventure but still managed to keep the relationship swoony. On to the next one (actually the prequel first as per the author’s recommended reading order).
