Slow start. World building seems more important than the characters with a scope too large for me to relate to. Kind of interesting. Maybe try again when in a different mood.

This is one of the Kindle eBooks where I checked daily for the price, until it sank under 10 Eur (finally), so I snatched it up today. Given that I read a lot and most only once, I do not want to spend too much money on ebooks.
Sidenote: no DRM, yeah!

Currently on hold. "Infomocracy" is very similar from the idea and writing to "Bandwith", both should appeal to me, as they are Cyberpunk (Noir?), but I find both rather boring to begin with, Worldbuilding is complicated, in both well integrated, but the stories as far as got in them are not very suspenseful or even gripping. Both books look like DNF/FF to me, currently, so I started "The Hate U give" today, even though I wanted to read SF after all the crimes I picked up recently - and sometimes DNFed.

Like 538 and a William Gibson novel had a baby. This novel overjoyed my inner electoral geek as well as providing some pungent criticism of even the best meaning attempts at creating a functioning governmental system for large numbers of humans. Certain things, like secure digital elections are mostly hand-waved away via "future tech" but that isn't the point of the story, so some magic is acceptable.

Fun if you don't think too hard about the details.

As a data scientist, this book made me happy deep inside my geeky heart. Mishima is an awesome kickass character: An introverted numbers geek with a "narrative disorder" who is also a secret agent traveling the globe to make the world safe for micro-democracy. Unusual and lots of fun.

Not my favorite writing style. Not my favorite type of cyberpunk, either.
