This was pretty damn standard but I loved it because I was honestly surprised by the end of it. I think I wanted for there to be more of a HEA and I like that there wasn't. Because I can see more of Alafair in this work that I can see her mark on this piece of literature. I didn't particularly care about the main character, Laurie, because of the romantic stuff that was kind of out of place. It's probably because this is book four of the series and I'm not familary with the whole cast from previous books so I wasn't invested in this relationship that she had or rather doesn't have with Alex.

I love the premise of the true crime tv show. I would love for this to be a real tv series. It would be a very different take on the media's role in true crime and how is it covered. I liked this book but I feel like the other ones might be better. So i borrowed all 6 books. We will see how that goes but for right now, it's going to be 4 star for me.

I enjoyed this mystery very much. Read it in a couple of afternoons.

A different take but still suspenseful

After reading the first two "Under Suspicion" books, I was looking forward to another suspenseful read. This booked lacked a bit of continual suspense. The last few chapters were packed with suspense and were surprising. The ending with Alex and Laurie was an extreme downer and the book ended abruptly.

Hated this book. I normally love Mary Higgins Clark, but she has taken up with a co-author and her magic seems to be gone.

This is the 3rd book in the Under Suspicion series by Mary Higgins Clark. It didn't disappoint!

Mary Higgins Clark is wonderful. It's been a while since I've read one of her novels but this one was really great with lots of twists and turns. I'm looking forward to reading the others in the series.

One of the better Mary Higgins Clark book. Found it very interesting but a simple and easy read.

With this installment, we have once again foregone the lyrical naming of books for killer nicknames. Ok. Another predictable killer who explains everything to an intended victim, another set of cops who didn't do their jobs very well at the time of the original crime. There was also a sudden, inexplicable enlightened Ebeneezer Scrooge moment for a side character crammed into the very end of the book for reasons I'm not clear on, other than perhaps the authors wanted to provide some sort of explanation about the large red herring thrown into the plot. Which would be fine but doesn't seem to necessitate the complete negation of who the character had been throughout the narrative. But it's MHC, and we know and love her formula, so... 3 star minimum.
