This is a really beautiful collection and connected with and felt moved by each poem. Some of my absolute favorites are: "Toward a New Theory of Negro Propaganda", "The High Priestess of Soul's Sunday Morning Visit to the Wall of Respect", "AND COLD SUNSET", "Who Were Frederick Douglass's Cousins, and Other Quotidian Black History Facts That I Wish I Learned in School", "Who Speaks for the Earth?", "I TOLD MY THERAPIST I TRIED TO MEDITATE AND SHE LAUGHED", "Magical Negro #89: Michael Jackson in Blackface on a Date with Tatum O'Neal, 1970s", "Magical Negro #80: Brooklyn", "The Black Saint & the Sinner Lady & the Dead & the Truth", and "Preface to a Twenty Volume Joke Book".
Minor: Sexism, Violence, Sexual content, Racism, and Police brutality

This is a haunting collection of poems with so many lines that left me breathless. I like that the collection does not cater to the white gaze.
My favorite poems in the collection were: Everything Will Be Taken Away, AND COLD SUNSET, "Now More Than Ever," A Brief History of the Present, and Who Speaks for the Earth?
