such a lovely read! love richard wagamese’s super conversational writing style which adds so many reflexive layers to the novel! while tackling such devastating topics such as the 60s scoop, residential schools, the broken foster care system and cultural genocide, wagamese also brings so much joy, love, and moments that genuinely made me laugh out loud. this novel did wonders for my anxiety every time i picked it up and a lot of teachings from this novel are going to stick with me for a while. there’s so much to be gained from reading this.
