The boy/Rafe's early childhood was very challenging and basically awful. I had another one of those moment where I wanted to push into the story 'verse and help him by taking him somewhere safe. And I wanted to take away all those monstrous grownups who were abusing him straight to whatever kind of jail their society has.

Luckily, Rafe's life got better after running into Maestro Servio. He got to meet cheerful and kind Tyver, learn a trade, learn to read, write & do math, and got to live a life. I enjoyed reading this book.
