This is the 2nd book that picks up where “Chosen” left off with Will and Emma on the run. It’s the 4th in suggested reading, but you could go straight from the first to this one if you’re just dying to know what’s happening, the other two are really nice for the reader to get a better grasp of the characters and where they came from, but the first books leaves in such suspense that it was difficult. All I can say is WOAH. Just WOAH. My mind is BLOWN! I’ve never been a sci-fi reader but leave it to Denise Grover Swank to change that! I HIGHLY recommend the series. I must prep you though, you’ll NEVER suspect that ending, I’m still in shock! Off to read “Sacrifice”!

This is the second book in The Chosen series. I did not enjoy the second book as much as I did the first. This is a dragging story with action overload. The characters don't have time to catch their breath before the next event happens. The characters are not likable and they are shallow if not childish. Not sure yet if I will read the third one.

The second book in this series kept me entranced as much as the first. I feel for Emma Will, and Jake and I find their action packed story drawing me in!
I can't wait to see where their journey takes them in the next book!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! That's what I said all the way through this second book in the series! Will & Emma are still on the run and they are discovering each day more about each other. Working together to help Emma grow & leash her powers, looking for Jake, and meet members of Emma's family can put a drain on any relationship. Add in two separate factions looking to either kidnapp or kill Emma, well, it's going to get rough. Really rough.

What an awesome ending! This started off a little slow and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it as much as the first but the ending was nuts!! I have to know what happens...on to book #3.

FYI...Austin books club pals...this series has a super romance but nothing too wild and it's a just a bit more focused on the action vs the "steam".

I love these books. Very entertaining. But I think Emma needs to start wearing a helmet.

And this is where I give up on this series. I have come to hate Will, Alex, Raphael...most of the characters. If I see the word 'smirk' again, it will be too soon. Seriously...thesaurus. And reading this after Curse Keepers, I think I can bow out of the rest of that series as well, because honestly, the male characters have zero depth, the females are kind of whiny bitches, and the only thing I felt after reading these was kind of disappointed in myself that I actually pushed myself to keep reading rather than just give up. I paid for the damn things, I thought I should at least try to read them. Ugh. Wish I'd have saved my money.
