À lire à tout âge, à tout moment, partout, plusieurs fois si possible.
Si je devais choisir un livre à sauver dans ma bibliothèque, je pense que je sauverais celui là.

The poetry was fantastic, but the introduction was horribly racist, so I tore it out.

i don't really know how or what to rate this book. i always feel a bit guilty when i rate non-fiction, especially texts that are intwined with/about the author's life, but i feel like 3 stars is apt because i am not sure how else to rate it. i loved the switching between prose and verse, i thought the poetic form really worked for such an elusive book that very quickly switched between topics. i feel like the verse allowed for the words to form their own meaning, as opposed to the restrictive quality of prose, but the prose was fascinating too, how some sentences were an entire paragraph and then the next was just a line. incredibly moving as equally depressing, but essential reading nonetheless.
