chloe you’ve managed to cause me that sickening broken, shattered, nothing except another book will heal, feeling in my stomach. so thanks for another absolutely DEVASTATING book that makes me want to hug all the characters (especially gibsie) and never let go.

Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-YA/new adult crossover
-Childhood best friends to lovers
-Hurt/comfort
-Sports (rugby)
-Slow burn
-Set in Ireland in the early 2000s
-Book #5 in an interconnected series (could technically be read as a standalone, but the previous books will add a lot of necessary context)

"Really?" Big brown eyes full of unshed tears greeted me. "You'd do that for me?"

"Of course." Using my thumb, I wiped a rogue tear from her cheek. "I’d do anything for you."

"Thanks. Snatching my hand up in both of hers, she closed her eyes and leaned into my touch. "Bestie."

"Anytime." I could feel my heart accelerate to a thousand beats a minute, because while I might be cradling her face in my hand, she was holding my life in hers. "Bestie".

This series and these characters will forever have my full heart!! Gibsie and Claire are perfect, both in friendship and love. This was a very hard fought for HEA and required a lot of self-discovery and healing.

The only reason why I didn’t rate this 5 stars like every book prior was because some of the conflict/characterization got a little repetitive at times.

Please note - The Boys of Tommen series deals with heavy and VERY triggering content. I’ve included a list of CWs below that stood out to me, but be mindful and do your own research before diving in.

CWs for traumatic loss of a parent/sibling, dubious consent, grooming, sexual assault/rape, suicide (in addition to previous CWs listed under previous books in the series)

Story: 4/5
Audiobook: 5/5 (narrated by Jaqueline Milne & Matthew Forsythe)
Length 19h28min
