The saga continues. Disguised as plant people, Oona and friends are headed to Toki to light the next beacon and save her fellow sand dancers being held in a toxic prison. More friends are made, and Oona is reunited with her talented sand dancing sister, who left Oona behind to train with the Cobalt Prince in more intricate, powerful dances that could help defeat the Mimic.

The story moves too fast to be completely satisfied at the end of the book, especially knowing it was just a snippet and the next installment won't be released for several months. So is the way of the serial.

First of all, this series is just beautiful. I can't get over the art. I love just looking at the spreads, the motion, and I really enjoy the worldbuilding.

I think these are great for just about any age, so far. Simple enough for a child to follow along but with enough depth to keep an adult engaged.

Everything makes a little more sense in Volume 2 of this saga. Which makes it more enjoyable. It stays pretty light in the dialogue but the plot gets more original and more distant more its obvious influences such as Bone and Amulet. IT's getting pretty good.

Got this from the library for my daughter, but since everyone else in the house had read the first one, I decided to catch up with the series too. Super compelling! I hope the series continues to be this great!!!

This is just a super cute story. I love the world building and the characters, and I'm rooting so hard for everyone.
