I really enjoyed this world. This book is exactly what I needed to get me out of a slow reading slump! it's fast paced, the characters are likeable and the world is compelling. I loved the mythology aspects of the world and how the author brought in certain creatures that I didn't expect to read about. I enjoyed that the romance part of the novel was not overbearing, the attention was mostly on plot development and the quest at hand which made this a refreshing read. whilst the book isn't without flaws, some areas could have been fleshed out a bit more and there are still a couple of typos despite a recent proof read/edit, I am looking forward to reading more of this world. I hope book 2 develops the mythology more and as the series goes on I hope we learn more about the protagonists mentors history.
