This tale of Norse gods is a short quick romantic novella made me glad that I am not going to the resort in it for Christmas. There is a lot of snow, a lot of cold and a couple of petty vengeful gods, one of which really needs a bath. Of course there is the lonely girl and the ultra hot handsome man. Can't have a romantic gods tale without that. This hunk a burning ice love has a sleigh, and it is pulled by.....LOL..... I can't say, just know I couldn't stop laughing. Wait, was this a comedy ? The boy knows the girl through some long time connection, they meet, things get hot, things get cold. No big surprises.
It was what it is a short novella. Quick and enjoyable enough.

This was a great story. There was so much substance from the very begging. I was hooked from page one to the end. I am looking forward to reading this again for Christmas again!

"3.5 out of 5 stars!! With similarities to the author's The Magic Knot Series, this novel gives you the mysteriousness and spiciness that you enjoy with that series while being short enough that you can finish it in one setting!"

The first Holiday story of the season! I enjoyed this quick, light romp. More sweet than sexy, it could have benefited from a longer length to flesh out characters and deepened the relationships. There's a bit of short-cutting here with the fact that Tyr knows all about Annika, but Annika is basically left out in the cold (literally) where he is concerned. Being vastly unfamiliar with Norse mythology I wasn't sure if I was missing important bits of information and that killed some of my enjoyment (such as I know that Loki killed...one of Odin's sons, but couldn't remember which and I know that Fenrir is the wolf...kind of) or if I was merely too curious.

As I mentioned the relationships needed deepening. Tyr's motivations were pretty clearly mapped out, but Annika was more broad strokes. Aside from wanting to know her family, chafing under her aunt Una's strict rules and wanting to prove herself we learn very little else about her background. She never explicitly says she wants to go into the vacation manager's life, we don't have any idea if she has any friends or what she does in her free time. Some of this seems to be so that when she decides to uproot herself its not as hard a decision, which is jolly good, but on the other hand how empty was her life for 26 years except for the presence of Tyr in her head?

Still for all that this is a cute sweet Christmas time story, with some nifty Norse thrown in and not heavy on the sex (one scene I think, with some mentions of arousal) and quick to get through.
