“How does distance look?" is a simple direct question. It extends from a spaceless within to the edge of what can be loved. It depends on light.”

I still think Anne Carson speak a different language than the rest of us. Anyway, this broke my heart into pieces and put all of them back together again somehow.

Audiobook again so I’d like to read it one day. Weird moment when the protagonist flies to Buenos Aires via Bermuda... like. What? Completely took me out of the story.

Anne Carson has a powerful command of language and a slightly less powerful sense of narrative. As a story this was less satisfying than the individual lines.
