DNF exceedingly rambly and unsure of its foundation

from the blurb, i expected a scholarly look into what could feasibly be known about an ancient sumerian man whose story is still told. instead, i got 80 pages into an uncited mess of tenuous inferences & unsourced assertions. the discussion of sumerian sensibilities was interesting, but there was little supporting information; biblical authors are confidently given attributes, again with absolutely no proffered sources or proof (“j was a woman!” the author shouts, with no corroborating proof for this groundbreaking assertion other than the presence of women in some passages generally taken to be part of the “j source”.)

just. this was a mess. i’m offended he tried to call it history.
