I never thought I'd say this, but I think I liked the Netflix adaptation better. Although that might just be because I watched it before I read the book. Guess I'll never know.

I'm not a sci-fi reader, but this book was one that was at home and with the TV show I decided to give it a try. And I loved it!

I couldn't stop reading from the moment I started. All the thing with the mistery, the action, how the society changed with the posibility to transfer minds in batteries... everything was great for me.

Better than the partially satisfying TV adaptation. More hardboiled than William Gibson, but also less cyber and punk. A great whodunnit that uses its world well. Badass fights and a proto-Master Chief-type superhuman fascist lead.

Morgan develops an engrossing and interesting sci-fi setting that is the backdrop for a well thought-out mystery/thriller plot. I really enjoyed the sci-fi elements, and the plot uses/focuses on them nicely. I didn't think the climax and resolution were particularly well done, but it was a very enjoyable read.

More drugs than I was happy about, a fair amount of sex that wasn't terribly interesting to me, but really a fantastic book! Really! The sex and drugs had the feeling of some of the early Spenser for Hire books, as if it was in there because it seemed like a good idea at the time. The drugs played a larger role here, though. Anyway, I look forward to reading the next book.

Fascinating concept and some excellent world building. In some places a little long and unnecessarily crude.
