It was a good book, with an interesting storyline and well-written characters. However, I wasn't able to appreciate it as I should have, as I wanted to try something different from my normal paranormal/academy RH and went for dystopian when I really didn't feel it.

Blyss is trying to survive in a world taken over by zombies. She meet four guys and they bond together trying to find provisions and a safe place. What Blyss didn't expect though was for her to find out that she wasn't as human as she thought and that she might be the last hope for their world.

INFECTED started out strong for me with a badass FMC living on her own 6 months after the zombie apocalypse but as the book went on it started to fall apart. The plot became inconsistent with continuity errors and character actions that just didn't make sense; it felt like the author had an idea of what she wanted to happen but didn't know how to weave it all together in a logical way.

Characters went from being tough and smart to making silly mistakes, Blyss learns to communicate perfectly with Jonah through sign language in like 3 days, and Maura goes from a scared 14 year old girl to suddenly winning in knife fights against grown men after only training for a day. Everything was either too easy and convenient or strangely difficult for no reason. Additionally, the romance felt very stilted and the one sex scene didn't seem to have any real emotion behind it.

I thought the overall set up of the apocalypse was unique and an interesting idea but the execution of the story wasn't working very well.

Content Warning: flashbacks to past child abuse; brief mention of MMC being tortured; past bullying after hearing loss; medical experimentation on children and adults

Dystopian, zombies and reverse harem? Um, yes please! It's like The Passage had a baby with reverse harem
And replaced vampires with zombies. A sassy and more than capable FMC, a gorgeous and fierce dog oh and 4 guys who all have issues and baggage. Pretty much the perfect combination in my opinion. I loved this book, fast paced and thoughtful yet sexy and great crackling tension too. Bring on more please!

I agree with other reviews that this reads like a YA novel, the idea behind it was interesting and I did like some of the characters, I just had a hard time getting into the story, it felt a little bit disjointed to me and there could have been more to improve the flow of the story.
Overall though the plot of the story was interesting enough to keep me reading, I don't think I'll continue the series though.

Loved it!

This was an unexpected recommendation... almost didn't even take the time to read it as it is kind of outside of my normal genre at least setting wise.... but I loved it and i want more!

So glad I found this series, I think I just stumbled upon it by accident. I love zombie/apocalypse RH, but I haven't seen too many to be honest, I don't know what to look under. Anywho, loved this so much, the spice factor is very low, it's not insta-love, hell for some it's not even sort of like. lol I love that this has such a deep plot, and that there is a lot going on without it being overwhelming.
There is more that sexy times to be had, and I love that. I love that. The characters are still developing through the entire book, and I know there are a few more books in the series, I am already on book two, and I am loving it as well. I can tell that there are going to be twists and turns and secrets revealed. I am here for it. I do like there is a slight paranormal flair to this as well. You have to read it to understand what I am talking about.
