I didn't read every chapter, but just about. There was some useful information in here, and lots of examples. If you're the type of person who wants just one book on the craft of writing, this one does a pretty good job of covering all the bases, and in more depth than most 'general' or 'beginner' books do. But as someone who has read lots of these types of books, there wasn't too much that was new to me. Mostly refresher. But I did find the Setting chapter, which also covers atmosphere and mood, particularly helpful, as that's an area I struggle with personally.

I didn't think it was possible to read a textbook cover to cover... It was informative, fascinating, helpful and amusing at times. I loved it and can't wait to study Creative Writing at university this year.
