I haven’t read a book about werewolves in a hot minute and i remember why. While i think the author did an amazing job of creating this mysterious atmosphere (especially surrounding the husband) it follows a very cliche werewolf trope of locking of said werewolf only for it to escape and cause chaos. This mixed with the ending it felt like i was watching an episode of Supernatural.

If you're an older sister, skip this! It's more horrifying for that group than any other.
I haven't read any other Chandler Baker, but this got me browsing her other selections.
This is a goodwoman werewolf tale, which I think is a spoiler because it's not clear at the beginning. This being a short story, it would give away the main tension point for the first 1/3 of the book.

This is the last book in the Creature Feature series, and I have to say, I really enjoyed this series!
Big Bad had me questioning what was happening. A mysterious virus? Shape shifters? Werewolves? I loved the ending. I just wish I had more now.
Overall, like the others, it's a great quick spooky read.

I love how things are built to do not give right away what is about to happen. But the cover gives off the twist. Doesn't make the book any less enjoyable.
The tension built for so long, so nicely slow and foggy, YES!
No character is what it seems, although I had my doubts over weirdo I imagined as Stanley Tucci. Do not ask me why him.
Now, down to business:
I hate Rachel and Odie because they are both freaking selfish and irresponsible. I hate them with burning passion, they are so selfish and manipulative.
I know I shouldn't hate Odie because she's just a child, but she made me really angry most of the times and I know, as an adult, it would be on me to control my anger. But she's also fictional so I can hate her as a treat.
But Rachel is an adult and I will go head-first in how much Rachel is a great character that I hate deeply. She's manipulative and egoistic, she will destroy people around her because of love. Love is fear, but also love is destruction in this story.
She is the classic type of mother that will shove all the weight of the world onto June's back because now who else? Now that she cannot trap and destroy her husband, she will do so with June, which is even easier. How many selfish mothers and their eldest emotional support daughters you know? Now you gotta protect mommy. I know the drill, I am a June, I guess.
What hurts me is, and that's the great catch, it has a very twisted complex ending: no June going crazy and finishing off the family that destroyed her family (really hoping she would kill Odie with a rock or something, but no, that's not June). No Rachel owning up to her mistakes. Just a cliffhanger for the ages.
Also, did she die about about Mason? Her husband counted him in the deaths of Rachel, but did she?
This one rocked me to the core.
I love it. It's the best short so far, hope the next comes out soon, I love creature feature shorts.
