DNF @ 40%. No hint of affection from the love interest… not sure what’s the point of continuing without the promise of SOMETHING. Also, the main character’s head is insufferable to be inside—what 30-year-old adult woman ghosts her job, uses watercolors to paint a wall mural, and spends way too much time with the imaginary friends in her head?

This book was actually so cute and I loved the character development and the nuanced discussion on anxiety and how it impacts relationships. Iconic and refreshing honestly.

This is... more unrealistic than I like them. Even though the point of a romance is that everything is ok in the end, and that's half of the reason to read them, there's a line of believability that if crossed - makes it way less enjoyable for me. This book crosses that line with too many coincidences, character flaws that are too easily resolved, sickly sweet romance etc. Which is a shame because I do like some of the character ideas, I just didn't like the execution I guess. At least it was a shorter book and didn't make me read it for too long.

Cute cute cuteeeeeee.
I started this book because I am a sucker for grumpy×sunshine but I was surpised by the depth and the intensity that I found in the book.

My favorite thing was that Maybell and Wesley weren't perfect: they had struggles, fears and doubts.
Maybell always daydreaming with her head in the clouds, who prefers to create her own world that changing the one she lives in.
She's just like me (and she is also an INFP like me!!!).
And don't get me started on Wesley, He has set the standard for me.
He was just so sensible, thoughtful and vulnerable behind his hard shell, he would do anything for Maybell, even overcoming his fears.

Wesley and Maybell were perfect for each other, being each other supporters at finding themselves: Maybell with her optimism and big heart was the perfect match for Wesley with his anxiety and shyness, a man who in reality just want to be loved and accepted.

Reading this book I felt understood.
