As a child, I was an absolutely massive Jacqueline Wilson fan - like I had read every single one of her books and owned 128 of them. As a gay teenager now, reading this book and knowing that Jacqueline Wilson herself is gay, it feels so special to read this and very close to my heart. I could feel her experiences through the page and it was so relatable.
Moderate: Bullying, Chronic illness, Abandonment, Alcohol, Toxic relationship, Lesbophobia, and Homophobia
Minor: Sexism, Sexual assault, Vomit, Alcoholism, Religious bigotry, Pregnancy, Fatphobia, and Infidelity
