It had an interesting premise - the time period being shown through the eyes of a child. However, for a book about racial issues in that time period there is a serious lack of black characters relevant to the plot and the prejudice against them isn't shown very well in any of the plot relevant characters.

I love this book more every time I read it. Harper Lee is an understated genius of a human being.

You do miss some of the goodness of narration in the graphic novel, but it's still amazing and simple and great. I wish every person where more like a Finch.

To Kill a Mockingbird was required reading in my school long ago.  Reading as an adult I can appreciate more now.  That said, it has lots of racism which still exists today.  Also it shows how much of that racism and hatred is passed down through generations. While I am not excited by how it ended, It was very fitting.
