Ahhh the unfortunate monarchism of fantasy novels… Deltora Quest is hardly unique in that regard but this book has it STRONG. R.I.P. Jasmine’s anti-monarchy sentiments.
Other than that, though, this book is great fun. Noradz is one of my favourite locations in the whole series, and there are actually some very good morals in here too! I liked the way the different characters responded realistically to certain places and people based on their own life experiences - Barda predisposed to have sympathy for those held by tradition, Jasmine refusing to judge a fellow creature for selfishness. It keeps the book from feeling too preachy.
Also, I bloody loved The Reveal in this one as a kid, and yeah. Still holds up.

I mean, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either compared to the other two books.

Not quite as good as the first 2 but still introducing new and interesting characters. The end felt a bit rushed. There's a lot of "stuff" happening all the way through and then BAM final battle, end of story.
