With some truly resounding status quo changes, excellent characterizations, and a solid introduction for a fan-favorite character, this series continues to stay strong.

This volume has left me unhappy. It's left me sad. I never expected the story to take this turn. Things have always turned out bad and been hard for the turtles but they've always had their family to be there for them. With that small comfort broken, there's no protection from the despair.
