Oh man. I remember reading this as a child. The illustrations are so stunning, and the feeling of nostalgia this gives me is like a warm hug.

I love Rani as a character, but I think the structure of this book was lacking. The different events felt unrelated, like things just kept happening. I also don't think the conflict was resolved very well. It was still fun to see Rani ride a seahorse and make a bubble necklace.
