This book is exactly what you wanted to read when you picked it up. It’s not well written but it’s fun.

So this author promised Dub-con straight up so I guess I got what I asked for! lol. This is definitely a spicy step-father romance with mafia seasoning. I will say that I don’t think I liked the dub-con in this novel as much as I did with The Ritual. Reasoning is a slight spoiler:
I think a big factor in this is that the fmc never really ever consented to the dub-con. I felt like the fmc in the ritual consented early on to the dub-con because she realizes that’s something she’s into . In this, he just apologizes over and over and love bombs her into forgiving him but dub-con isn’t a something the couple enjoys later on.

Overall opinion: you get what you came for.

Happy Reading 📚😮‍💨🍃

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions and I’m not entirely sure how to feel about the main lead’s relationship bc of the age difference and how it started but I’m glad they had a happy ending. Even though I’m indifferent to the book, it is one that I would recommend to people who are into taboo/forbidden themes.

Next to no plot with allllll the spice! Still an enjoyable story overall however. I loved the connection between Mia and Lazzaro and their story was just the right amount of taboo for me. And Lazzaro has an absolutely filthy mouth, which is always a plus.

This was not terrible - the writing was OK (apart from the use of the phrase, "I crave to", which just pulled me out of the story every time I read it) but overall this fell really flat for me. The mafia element was pretty much non-existent (if you're going to use that as the basis for your premise, I feel like it needs to be more a part of the story but honestly, I forgot that was even the reason for these characters being in this situation most of the time), and the characters were one-dimensional. I think overall the whole thing felt rushed and, as a result, not sufficiently fleshed out.
