Could be considered common sense
This was an easy and quick read, most of which should be common sense but the sense many (too many) of us would like to ignore. Much of the narrative did not apply to current me, but the global culture and narrative of alcohol is an interesting one. Very good things to consider on the sober vs alcohol use spectrum.

While this book does seem to help some people, I found it incredibly unrelatable. Most of it is just stating how much the author spent on drinking and other substances, and full of long drawn out lists of things you could be doing instead of drinking. I was hoping it would help me navigate sober life or help me relate to addicts that struggled more than I have, but it didn't seem to do either.

Awesome read for sober-curious people. It helped me a lot any time I questioned giving up alcohol in the early months.

The writing style is too “punchy” and truthfully seems simplistically positive in describing a decision that can be incredibly challenging, even if it is ultimately a positive one. No nuance.

A bit of Dry January inspiration… nothing particularly novel or groundbreaking to report back, but I am hyped for a hangover free month!

A good pump you up book for those considering sobriety. At times was pretty repetitive, but still plenty of good nuggets and my pages are filled with underlining! Easy read, read it in two sittings. I think for some this book will hit, and others might need something a little more serious. Like I said, it’s a great read to get you excited and motivated to quit, but don’t forget, for some there is still so much work to be done after quitting. For some, sadly they never heal enough to reap the benefits of a beautiful sober life
