After many years of believing otherwise, it turns out I really really enjoy Jane Austen’s writing style. I found this book charming, sweet, and subtlety funny. There’s something timeless in Austen’s characters that shines through the formal social conventions of the period and brings humanity and life to this book. I couldn’t have asked for a better reminder that taste is always changing, and it’s sometimes worth giving an author a second (or even a third or fourth) chance.
