One of my favorite books of all time. You were so drawn into this family. The author has a gift for being truthful without judgment. I know it was good because a visual movie played along in my head as I read it. I'll re-read it again, I'm sure.

Gorgeous memoir about adulthood and family; Abu-Jabar is a lyrical writer whose sentences I savored. An unexpected section about grief was poignant and particularly relevant to where I am these days.
