Ten fragment z perspektywy zabójcy trochę był rozwleczony moim zdaniem, wolałabym więcej Sherlocka. Ale jestem zachęcona na kolejne części!

For the start of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes series, this is quite strong. It features some excellent world building throughout London and Utah, and also blends too sections of a story into one complete narrative.

Here I am at 40 years old discovering Sherlock Holmes for the first time. I am usually scared off of books written before the 20th century. I find the stories good, but usually feel I have to work too hard following the writing style and dialogue. That really wasn't the case here, I was immediately caught up in the tale. I had some familiarity with it because of the Sherlock tv show, but the story was different enough that it was super entertaining. I loved the change 2/3 of the way through when you end up in Mormon Utah, I was wondering what in the hell I was reading, but in the most wonderful way. All the characters were fun and fantastic, the mystery was great. There is a reason why Sherlock Holmes endures to this day, because these may be the best mystery novels ever written.
