Let There Be Love by Melissa Storm
Starts with offer of a free gift Lauren has just gotten news that her father had died and she thinks that is impossible. they had just exchanged Christmas gifts.
She quits her job because her boss wouldn't give her time off from work and prepares her fathers affairs.
Memory boxes of their life are in his closet but she finds one about Alaska and dog sledding which she knew nothing about.
All kinds of newspaper clipping and she starts to understand about his other life. One of Shane and his dogs but he's injured and needs a handler. Her dad was one of the top best.
Wicked funny he has rules set for her while she's living at his house tending to the dogs and training...
Love learning about the terminology of the mushers as she investigates her father and Shane's lives in Alaska.
Fire makes him fire her and she leaves ... she thinks she is good with the dogs and agrees to help him when he comes back.
They both have hidden pasts that come to light and they have a lot of turmoil to get through, alone or together?
Next book involves Scarlett. Loved how this story came about. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.
Review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Melissa does it again, she has written another great book. I polished this book off in one day. Melissa's new series Sled Dogs is going to have people talking about it and it is going to be a popular series.
❄️
Who doesn't love a great story line if two lost souls who meet up and then find themselves. Then throw in some dogs and some mystery and it makes a story you just want to read.
❄️
I am looking forward to the next books in this series...
Let There Be Light - Book 2
Let There Be Life -Book 3
❄️
I have to say if you enjoy a good fairytale romance novel with a little mystery then this book is a must read for you.

Let There Be Love by Melissa Storm is an amazing story of love and redemption set in the world of Alaskan sled dogs (who are super cute even if they are working). Both Lauren and Shane have deep stories, and they developed into people I would love to call my friends.

Lauren starts out a little lost. Hating her job and not sure what she wants to do with her life. When her father dies unexpectedly, she finds out that his past (and hers) are not what she thought they were. So off to Alaska she goes – to discover her sledding history.

Seth’s story was a bit more complicated from the very beginning. And there were many times I wondered why he was such a jerk all the time. Lauren seems to thrive taking care of Mr. Grump and his team of sled dogs, but his refusal to open up drives her crazy.

She does a few sneaky things that she shouldn’t have, and somehow Seth ends up apologizing for them. Which bothered me a bit, because it should have been the other way around, but they seemed to work it out.

As Lauren and Seth start to develop a relationship, both of the pasts came back to visit in ways that I didn’t see coming. It was the perfect dose of extra drama to keep things moving along as they still fought their feelings for each other.

This was a great start to a series that I ended up binge-reading. Animals, romance, and great personalities are the perfect book combo.

Wanting to find out about her parents, Lauren takes a job and moves 4000 miles away from everything she has known. to Alaska. She takes a job as a sled dog handler for an injured 'musher'. Exciting read. Looking forward to the second book in this series.

Beautiful

This book was amazing! It was funny, and cute, and not just a love story. It was also about mushing, and dogs, and finding your past. I loved it, and it brought me to tears at times. 5 stars.

This is Book #1 in the Sled Dog series. I have loved sled dogs ever since I met my sister in law's husky. Then my husband and I got our first husky, Zeus, who has died on December 20, 2016. He is forever in our hearts. We still have 1 husky and his name is Bolt. We also have a German shepherd husky named Storm.

Lauren’s entire life changed all in one decision. If she did not decide to see what that box from her dad was all about, she would not have found the happy ending she needed. If she didn’t decide to change her life, then the ending wouldn’t have happened (read the book!). Shane needed Lauren as much as she needed him. He began to soften to her because she did not know his story and she did not back down to his temperament.

This was a Hallmark movie in book form. The pacing was weird, the relationship was unsettlingly fast, and there were not enough dogs! The main character Lauren didn’t seem like a real person to me. It was a quick read, and I didn’t hate it, but it was definitely not for me.

Sweet and easy read but

I liked Lauren and the way she’s always questioning everything is perfectly relatable. But she seemed somewhat irrational.

As she moves to Alaska to find out about her fathers mystery she discovers that her new employer is a mystery himself...

Shane is a somewhat tragic but mostly bossy jerk. I liked him. But then I didn’t like his big secret. It was different, which is good but I just cannot understand his reactions.

Then there’s a lot of doubt and irrational accusations and then they got pretty close.
I feel like I’ve missed some part, like there’s just the result without real development.

But the mystery was a good one, unexpected and I always love a small town community.
So it was a fun and light read but sadly not reaching its full potential.

I don't generally read or enjoy romances, and that was true for this book as well. But there is a four star rating, and does that make sense?

The writing is good, and if you like clean romances (which this is) then you will like this book. It is sweet, and the characters are interesting, for the most part likeable people.

If hovered between three and four stars and went with four because as a non-romance reader my judgment may be partially clouded.

The issues I had with the book are:
1. Short timeline for the development of the romance (though I think that is fairly typical?)
2. Somewhat implausible plot line. Someone getting a job handling dogs when she had no experience, whatsoever, seems to stretch belief. Even would she have asked for such a position, to be given it? Doesn't sound correct.
3. I think the secret the father had been keeping would have infuriated me. And no I would not have accepted it so easily. But then this is a romance.
