Another Great Livia Lone sttory

I usually chew through these books so fast that when the end comes I'm sad. So I've learned to try to slow my reading down a little. Like my parents said, chew slowly and you'll enjoy it more. Can't wait for the next installment.

Amazing

Great book. It's always so rewarding to not only vanquish the emeny but have our beloved characters find peace and happiness.

As I was reading this I thought about a new audience I hope picks this up. If you're into True Crime and give fiction a pass, I think you would be well-served to check out all Barry Eisler novels, but particularly the Livia Lone series. One of my favorite things about the series (and a reason to read it in ebook format if you have the option) is the list of links Eisler provides in the notes. If you think that child trafficking doesn't happen in the US, that this book or series is too out there, Eisler's sources will quickly bring you up to speed on the real, horrific things that take place in the US and around the world.

My other favorite thing (and this is aside from character and plot, which were spectacular as usual) is that a man writing a tough female cop/vigilante might be accused of pandering to a female audience, writing a fantasy that could never be reality, but Eisler makes Livia a real person. She's a badass that lets us, the readers know, that we can become better, stronger, more trusting of our intuition, and more supportive of fellow women. Eisler's writing is like the fiction version of SSDGM. And I'm here for it.

This is a 4.5 star review. I rounded down to to the identity of one of the villains (non-spoiler). After the villain reveal in Livia Lone, this plot was too close to the same for me to overlook especially when it did not need to be such a “special” person. It could have been anybody.

I still enjoy the Livia character. I enjoy her strength, along with her vulnerability.

I look forward to see where Mr. Eisler takes this (and John Rain) series.

I was initially disappointed to learn that there weren't anymore Livia Lone stories, but after finishing this, it makes sense. Her story, her revenge, and the revenge of the others she's known along the way, it's over. While I'd love to read another 100 more just like it, it's a pretty decent ending.
