I was expecting a little more from this; some action deep in the jungle, maybe some elements of magic. Instead there seemed to be a whole lot of walking around befriending the natives. I am left a bit disappointed because of my expectations but it wasn't a bad novel, just not what I wanted from it.

Este libro realmente me sorprendió. No he leído mucho de Isabel Allende, pero este libro realmente me invitó a seguir leyendo su obra. Lo que más me gustó es como la autora describe a los personajes sin necesidad de hacer una larga lista de sus cualidades y defectos, unos los va descubriendo a lo largo de la historia, al punto que llega a amar a algunos y a detestar a otros. La relación entre realidad y magia esta muy bien manejada. A decir verdad, me preocupé cuando comenzó a cruzar la linea al mundo mágico del libro, pues no sabia si podría regresar airosa, pero realmente lo hizo, y lo hizo maravillosamente. Muy recomendado.
