2021 REREAD
Honestly loved this just as much the second time around, once again read it in one sitting

------------------------------
2020: I loved this!! I read the blurb and immediately opened the Ebook version, and I may have finished it in one sitting...

Its cute and sweet whilst also dealing with the homophobia still present in many families. It made me feel very lucky that although my family had to come around to accept me they were no where near as bad as the Millers!

My only issue is I wish it was longer, I wish we had more time to explore the characters, relationships, and the wrap up at the end.

I reccomend this to anyone who loves the fake dating/forbidden romance tropes with a dash of found family.

An interesting twist on a faux-mance. Reagan agrees to be her BFF's beard for a family reunion as he has not come out to his conservative family yet ... but when she meets his twin sister, the sparks fly. It's a light, fun read and there's a nice build of chemistry as the Reagan and Charlie (Charlene) can't help but flirt even though they both think the other is straight.

This was a good read but I was a bit irked by the lack of maturity of the three mains - Reagan, Jamie and Charlie. Jaimie, the gay BFF, was especially aggravating - first off he puts his BFF into a position where his family thinks they have been dating for four years, drags her to a month vacation at his parent's place and then turns into a complete ass while there, doubling down when he finds out his twin sister is not only gay but is falling for Reagan. There was a decided lack of communication - especially once Jamie and Charlie both find out the other is gay - and Reagan is stuck in the middle of it all.

I've read my fair share of "gay guy asks lesbian BFF to be his fake girlfriend to his conservative family" books, and this was by far the best one yet. Absolutely delightful.

This book made me squeal with happiness. That doesn’t happen very often anymore.

Anyone But Her is not my typical type of book. It’s classified as new adult and romance. Two things I rarely read. But man am I glad I decided to read this. It has the same vibe as the Faberry fanfictions I was obsessed with back in 2010. Am I a little bit embarrassed to admit that I was obsessed with Faberry fanfics? Yes. Judge me all you want, they were my first taste of fandom. I will always have a soft spot for them.

ANYWAY. I adored both Reagan and Charlie so much. Their chemistry was off the charts from the very beginning. I’m also just a sucker for a forbidden romance.

I loved loved loved Reagan and Jamie’s friendship. I think everyone needs a friendship like theirs and I’m sad I don’t have one. (I’m ALWAYS taking applications for a queer best friend!)

Jamie and Charlie’s family makes me very very sad. I can relate to them a lot, as my family is pretty conservative as well. (Not quite as much, thank god.) The one saving grace about their family is Nana. Nana is 100% the best character.

The humor in this book made me so delightfully happy. Like cackling out loud happy.

I highly recommend it if you want a good sapphic romance. Heads up though that there are a few semi graphic sex scenes.

I liked the idea but I didn't love the execution! It's super trope-y (fake dating between an out lesbian and her closeted gay best friend, only for her to show up to the family reunion and fall for his closeted lesbian twin), which I think can be fun! I just never felt like their relationship connected on any level beyond physical. They talked a lot about having feelings for each other, but I would've loved for them to have a conversation that went beyond, "I totally want you, therefore I love you." I read it because it was free, and I take what I can get when it comes to wlw fiction. It wasn't a bad time, it just didn't leave me with much of an impression!
