Tbh it’s been almost a year since I read the last volume so my memory is foggy of the plot. Anyways still another great volume, I’ll probably read the rest of the series.
Great very expressive art that does well at visual storytelling, lively atmosphere etc.
It’s more of a filler chapter as the characters are stuck in the inn for the entire volume. But it’s still quite good I think. The rainy atmosphere and the anxiety is so well done.
Also it adds a side character for the volume that doesn’t take away from the thieves story but adds to it. Very well done ending like yes go lady!!

Excellent next installment of this series. This one feels a bit more like a single episode, so left me feeling a bit less satisfied than the first. But the intrigue continues to build! And I'm excited that I was able to check the series minus the last one at once. My followers might be less excited. ;)

After breaking into the Queen's treasury and escaping, Dessa, Topper and Fisk are on the run from her guard and in search of the mysterious Greyfalcon. Of course, they happen to take refuge from a storm at the same inn as the men they're running from.

A greedy innkeeper, his silent wife, and dangerous smugglers round out the cast of this quick adventure that only advances the story one day. Though I find these short episodes kind of frustrating, that really only means I'm so into this story that I'm anxious to find the answers to my questions. What happened to Dessa's brother? What is Greyfalcon hiding? Isn't ol' one-eye really a good guy under his tough exterior?

According to Scott Chantler's blog, the third installment is coming out this fall and will be titled THE CAPTIVE PRINCE. You can see excerpts here: http://www.scottchantler.com/2012/03/captive-prince-finished.html

Also, if you haven't read this series, you can now begin to read it online for free! Here's the link: http://www.three-thieves.net/2012/05/tower-of-treasure-page-1.html

I'm enjoying this series very much. Fans of the Bone series and the Amulet books would enjoy Dessa's adventures. As an adult reader, I really enjoyed Eudora's backstory--beautifully done.

I didn't expect to cheer for the guards quite so much in a story about thieves.

Whoa, this was great! It continues the story, but makes a bottle episode out of it. Inclement weather forces the Three Thieves—and pursuers!—into the only inn around, run by a smarmy, greedy, selfish innkeeper. Lots of twists and reveals, it stands alone, and still sends the travelers on their way for a new adventure. I quite enjoyed it. More Captain Drake, please!

Fresh from their escape from Kingsbridge, Dessa, Fisk, and Topper are caught in a rainstorm and the only place of safe refuge is the Black Rock Inn. Unfortunately, they aren't the only ones in search of shelter! Over the course of the evening, our trio has to escape locked rooms, a greedy cruel innkeeper, and Captain Drake and the Queen's Dragons! Do they manage to make it through the night? Can Dessa find the trail of her missing brother? You'll only find out if you read this comic!

I love this series. They're simple and fast and clearly meant for younger kids, but they're clever and action-packed, and I really love all the characters! Watching Dessa perform almost-impossible feats of acrobatics is just super satisfying in the way of all my favorite kids' books.
